4th Announcement for EurOmnis 2017
Dear $allOmnisUsers,
Euromnis 2017 is scheduled for 15th-20th October, Nr Arnhem, Holland
This a timely reminder of this year’s EurOmnis 2017 that is taking place at the end of October 2017. The best rates for this training event will be rising at the end of August; so take advantage of the most cost effective values available now. Register your interest and participation, plenty of developers have already done so.
We have new and established Speakers for 2017, and I’ll be telling you about them during the coming weeks:
DAVID BARNET
David will not only be providing pre-dinner class to the conference with his piano playing talent, he will be presenting this year also. He will cover one of the more sophisticated visual objects within Omnis in considerable depth – the tree list.
including details about using and managing Lists,
comparing classic commands versus list notation.
And the Studio Tree, a handy, but often misunderstood window object.

DOUG EASTERBROOK
One of the great pioneers of the Omnis community… a few years ago Doug, along with Jean-Marc Azerad, resurrected Euromnis from the ashes after Fred’s death. A champion of the open source mission, Doug continues to be very generous with his generic IP that he shares with delegates. His past drivers have been performance within Omnis. An ever present evangelist for Postgres, this year he continues this theme with a session on “Improve Studio performance with a bag full of Postgres tricks”.
Doug is also particularly hot on ultra thin web applications that use HTML for their rendering. And in todays work that means serving content to old farts in front of desk topics to the millennials who rely on their smartphones for internet action. Doug will show you how your web based application can span all client platform types by using Bootstrap.

MICHAEL MONSCHAU
Michael is showing many of his talents around comps and JS support. The new HTML Browser object in v8 is explained and extended. This includes demonstrating the Javascript required to display Omnis list data in a special way (mainly using a HTML table), all very clever.
Learn how to inject special data into Omnis reports, how to convert report data to custom formats or simply how to add your own global functions and constants to the catalogue.
Find out the difference between built-in and custom notation, how to squeeze extra performance out of methods, what notation to use in JS Client, and learn about the structure, intricacies, pitfalls and benefits of notation within Studio 8.
