You have to create your own method in interface for that. Something like below.
Calculate $cinst.$objs.MainCalendar.$currday as dim($cinst.$objs.MainCalendar.$currday,1)

I now have the calendar on a screen and clicking on a date returns the selected value
What I would like to be able to do is to add or deduct a month from the current display or add or subtract a year but I cannot get it to work.
Is there an easy way to do this?

From the component store, choose the external components en drag the calender control to your window.
