Sounds like signing up for hell. No. I don’t. So I think I will stick with the one my heart and head are drawn towards.
Postgres started at UC Berkeley. I’m from there originally. The U was a big part of my life. My dad worked at the U. We went there everyday to pick him up. My GG Grandfather sold them the land it’s on as he was the owner of the majority of Berkeley and the first white man to sink a shovel there, the first house and farm, he had a lot to do with the formation of Berkeley…the first elected official, so much. I have a warm heart for things from Berkeley. The only downer about Postgres is that it was originally funded by DARPA and the Army. Oh well. Can’t have everything. Yes I’m a peacenik.
But on that I have to say, life is complex, and I’m not all out unrealistic about the US’s need to develop things that are high tech. Hence DARPA.
