New Macs – Unzip Omnis
hi Michael:
I think the world is incompatible with OSX 10.5.8. that came out ins 2007, so some 10 years ago.
we still use Studio 5.2.3 and gave up on support for 10.5 long time back. minimum we can do is 10.6.8, and even then its tenuous support.
Xcode has target builds that indicates how far back you can go and I can’t imagine michael still supporting relics from that far back. He dies a good job of maintaining minimum standards, but you might need an old old copy of owrite… which would be abset bug fixes in the newer ones.
another question is — is this machine power PC based (the xcomps might not support that)
and its probably far cheaper to get the user to
a) upgrade to snow leopard 10.6.8)
b) buy a new mac mini and get with the times.
I know thats not exactly a great answer. and unless you have lots of people using those old machines, you are probably gonig to hate yourself for trying to make new software run on it.
and sooner or later — the client does have to move forward. it might be time. If the client is frugal — try get him to update to 10.6.8. you might have a better chance with that.
