Numeric Operators in SQL Where clauses
all I can say is try text search function in postgres. also solves the issue of searching for numbers that start with.
we make a text search column that has a trigger, that gets data from important columns …. and the ts_query operator can do some magic.
in other words …… with postgres, there pretty much is a solution to most design problems and needs.
