O$ 8.1 Code Signed
Hey Michael,
/Library/Application Support is a different folder.
It is:
/Users/
It is a hidden folder but one tip for customer support is that when you
are in finder and you use the Go menu, tell the user to hold down the
shift key. A new menu item will magically appear that opens up the users
library folder.
XComps are executable files and are therefor subject to code signing.
You can not run xcomps from the application support folder, that would
defy the whole point of code signing. If you have your own xcomps, you
need to code sign the installation yourself. So far my experience (and
I’m still by no means an expert here), if you use installers it is still
enough to code sign the installer and the installer can make changes to
applications installed on your computer, including updating XComps
(provided the application itself isn’t code signed).
As I understand it, if you deploy through the AppStore your application
needs to be code signed and that means that even if one file changes
that falls under the umbrella of code signing, you need to deploy a full
new copy of your application.
Cheers,
Bas
