Posing a question for the good of the Omnis community – want to move to STACK EXCHANGE?
the developer forums that reside at Omnis Software — did come up.
I hope I’m not putting words in peoples mouths that were there — I’m of the understanding that everybody agreed that a closed forum like what omnis provides does not really best serve the future interests of the entire community, both
— those that use omnis, and
— those that don’t know that they should use omnis because they don’t know about it.
people use whatever tool is available to help them find things. Google is powerful … but as Alex points out…… google doesn’t often say much about omnis, so he built an internal knowledge base.
for our product (Theatre Manager), all of our help is online in a Drupal site. its amazing how many hits we get from google search compared to competitors that have closed help system.
see you at the third annual users conference
