Not exact;y sure I understand what you mean by ‘nothing there’
For what purpose have you established the pgpass file ? For performing backups ?
In which home directory is the hidden file ?
Did you restrict its rights ? The pgpass file needs a chmod 0600 running (if I remember correctly) in order for postgres to use it…..
If you are just trying to get postgres to work in any which way – did you go in through a temrinal and set a password for the postgres user (in postgres) ?
