PostGreSQL Newbie
Good day fellow Omnis Developers.
I have been asked to switch a client from MSSQL to PostGres and as such I
am dabbing my toes into the Omnis water again.
I managed to download, setup and configure an instance of PostgreSQL om
Windows 10 workstation and also managed to setup an ODBC link to it, using
the Postgres ODBC driver.
In Omnis Studio (5.1), I can open a SQL Browser link using the ODBC
Connector and I can see the DB and managed to drag and drop a couple of
Schemas to the DB and PostGres created the required tables, with a couple
of quirks.
In another Omnis project (it was many years ago and I had to seriously dust
of the cob webs), I copied and pasted a Database Object of type ODBC.
However I cannot get the ODBC Method $logon to actually open the connection
to the DB via code (as mentioned, I can do this via the SQL Browser), I get
the following error:
“[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an
architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application”
I am a bit stumped, is there anyone that managed to create a logon to a
PostGreSQL DB via code on a Windows Environment?
Thank you,
—
