Re: AW: Studio 4.3.2.1 non-unicode on Windows – Polish Font
Hey Rudolf,
Well worth making the time. I found the move relatively painless though
for us, we did do a lot of preparation work up front making sure our
Postgres database was using UTF-8 and having character maps doing the
best conversion possible while still on Studio 4. There were things to
fix and improve but all in all, no major things.
It is funny though, even though we have a number of clients who have
staff in other countries they still mainly use English for data entry.
The benefit for us has actually come from an entirely different area.
Unicode has a huge collection of symbols. It’s amazing how creative you
can get using these symbols as iconography in your application.
Cheers,
Bas

When entering text the text is not written as it should, but rather automatically converted from Windows-1252 into the corresponding Windows-1250 characters. I was hoping someone else has had similar problems, and a solution that might avoid us being forced to convert our app to Unicode.
