RE: Re: Do Tell About Your Big Corporate Omnis Jobs
I’m late to the party here… lost my old subscription when verizon dropped its email service & only recently got my subscription squared away.

This would describe my situation. Back when we were DuPont, we had a success-story posted on the Omnis website. DuPont sold off our division in 2013 and the new company has a policy of not taking part in these kinds of marketing materials.
I can say that our Omnis apps continue to support our Research & Development and Manufacturing organizations. The apps started in Omnis 7 over 20 years ago, were replatformed for Studio v3 around 2003, and migrated to a new database environment & v6 (DB2 -> Oracle) in 2014. These are thick-client apps hosted in a Citrix environment, now hosted in an Azure private cloud. We’re preparing to upgrade to v8 and migrate our webservice calls to the newer RESTful model in the coming months. 20 years ago we had about 5-6 Omnis developers during the initial development years. We’ve been cruising at 2 developers for ongoing support in recent years. Several hundred users around the globe (every continent except Antartica).
