Studio 8.1.4 not always stopping at breakpoints
Hi Henk & Marc,
I’m on a Mac.
I haven’t pinned it down yet. Engineering have asked me to try to send
them a replicable example. I had an instance of the problem yesterday
but it was in a context that was just too involved to send to Mitford,
because it was in some devops code that involved client, appserver,
database and libraries to be written out into the file system.
What was happening yesterday was:
– Omnis would open the method editor at the breakpoint
– But then it would immediately start executing again from the bottom
of the method stack
– Of course it would then encounter the same breakpoint again and do
the same thing
This means that methods would accumulate on the stack. In this case, I
had an OK message in the code so I could see this happening, but in
other cases the looping has continued uninterrupted until there were too
many methods on the stack and Omnis crashed.
Interestingly, I could use the breakpoint key combo to break in at the
OK message and I could step through the code as normal, but as soon as I
got back to the “troublemaker breakpoint” the same thing would happen again.
Does that ring a bell for anyone?
